Based on who Tramp is nominating for these key cabinet positions we can conclude that they perceive “merit” is the same as “wealth” and “power”.  So far there has only been one truly qualified cabinet position to have been filled.  All the others simply are unqualified broligarchs and / or sycophants.

For instance, what qualifications does Elon Musk have that merits his position as the new Trumpy hatchet man?  Musk has never been elected to anything, just like Tramp before he ran for president.  We have seen the public failures of Musk as a business manager and can only speculate what could go wrong. 

Speaking about “transparency”, has Musk ever shown his tax returns or recused himself from decisions where he has a conflict of interest?  What happened to our culture where “merit” is now based primarily on wealth and not experience and / or education? What happened to the good old days when candidates and appointees filed financial disclosures and their tax returns?  Ever since Tramp became the Republicon candidate in 2016, we can consider these efforts to maintain transparency as a nostalgic memory.  Now we don’t know where the conflicts of interest are because we don’t know enough about the business and financial activities of these people.
